This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Purpose of the role:

To support the APAC team by effectively managing and settling claims in order to deliver a quality advocacy claims service to clients.

 

Key Role Accountabilities:

Principal Tasks

 

  • Ensure Claims are settled within specific handling times and Clients kept updated with the progress of their Claim
  • Building, developing, and maintaining close working relationships with Clients (both external and internal), experts and insurers by ensuring a consistently high standard of service is provided
  • Managing and promptly resolving all assigned external and internal queries
  • Producing claims information and presenting to insurers/reinsurers, either in written or networked format; and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and enquiries
  • Monitoring insurers’ agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payments are made to the appropriate beneficiary
  • Identifying any potential errors and omissions (with appropriate managerial assistance and oversight)
  • Reporting any claims difficulties immediately to Senior Management
  • Ensuring effective liaison with accounting colleagues both regarding collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries
  • Keeping up to date with market and system changes
  • Monitoring workload and reporting to Senior Management as appropriate
  • To be proactive in the provision of claims solutions for large clients and coverholders

 

Generic Knowledge Requirements

 

Candidate will receive appropriate training to become proficient in the following:

 

  • Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Law of Agency and the Law of Contract to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
  • Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
  • Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and markets; and their practices, documentation and customs
  • Good working knowledge of the Australian Insurance and regulatory environments
  • To be proactive in the provision of claims solutions for large clients and coverholders
  • Poses strong and effective communication to Senior Management

 

Specific Knowledge Requirements

Candidate will receive appropriate training to become proficient in the following:

 

  • Knowledge of Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers practices, procedures and service standards
  • Knowledge of Claims Division business strategy, goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge and/or awareness of Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers IT systems and processes

 

Competencies Required

 

  • Ability to retain existing business and the confidence of the client
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages
  • Good numeracy skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work accordingly
  • Proactively identifies and attempts to resolve issues
