Facultative Technical Account Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join the fast growing, dynamic Facultative Reinsurance team at Price Forbes Re. Price Forbes Re is the reinsurance broker of the Ardonagh Group - one of the UK’s largest and fastest growing Insurance Brokers, handling over £10bn of GWP in the last 12 months.

The Account Manager Role at Price Forbes Re is an important one.  Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the servicing of your client’s accounts is both proactive and to the highest standards.  You are responsible for ensuring the brokers have the right materials to place the business and that post-placement servicing is timely and accurate.

You will work closely with the Facultative team’s producers & brokers and be responsible for key parts of the client service lifecycle.  You will possess the necessary technical skills to support facultative placements, be confident and able to build a trusted relationship with your clients and advocate for them internally.  You will understand the workings of the Price Forbes Re and each of its functions, as well as the broader reinsurance marketplace.

This role falls within a part of the overall ‘fulfilment’ function of Price Forbes Re which includes account management, technical processing, claims and IBA roles all seamlessly delivering to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service:

  • Oversee the fulfilment of all client service activities for your clients
  • Drafting MRC’s
  • Creating market presentations
  • Using PPL / Whitespace
  • Processing entries (Open TWINS experience preferred)
  • Dairying forward future tasks to action (adjustments, profit commissions)
  • Working with IBA to ensure Premium Payment Conditions are met
  • The resolution of queries that may impact on client service e.g. underwriter queries, processing queries, account queries and the like, and escalate, as needed
  • Keeping accurate records at all times

Technical Capability

  • Provide and gather information to and from Underwriters, Brokers, Technical Staff and Business Producers as required
  • Provide expert advice on contract documents within specified classes of business
  • Produce clear and accurate documents and wordings for clients which provide the best possible cover in the market and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
  • Use class of business (Property) knowledge to produce contract documents and documents suited to the client’s needs.
  • Check and recommend amendments to policies/contract documents produced by others prior to agreement by Underwriters
  • Check final contract documents against slip or proposal details to ensure appropriateness of the proposed standard policy
  • Create original and complex contract documents and maintain database of contract documents and policy information
  • Maintain up-to-date and orderly files
  • Utilise in-house, Lloyd’s and Company market systems including Open TWINS, LORS and Price Forbes Re computer systems such as Account Opening 
  • Evaluate the status of workflow across your team and report on regular basis to management
  • Support other Technical Account Managers across Price Forbes Re

Leadership/Management:

  • Work closely with Divisional Leadership to identify and drive opportunities for improved processes
  • A real team player, willing to assist / mentor less experienced Technical Account Managers and help across the wider business in busy times, always looking to deliver a high level of client service. 
  • Build relationships with peers across different Price Forbes Re teams to drive improved processes and best practice 
  • Manage and undertake assigned project work to time scales as directed

Representing the Price Forbes Re:

  • Champion the Price Forbes Re name and core values to clients and the wider marketplace
  • Represent Price Forbes Re with clients, agents, suppliers, and other organisations

Compliance:

  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and Ed compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives
  • Escalate any potential E&O's to Divisional Directors and the Legal & Compliance team at the earliest opportunity

Person Specification

Essentials:

  • Proactive, can-do attitude, focussed on positive client outcomes
  • Suitable experience in a Reinsurance Account Management role
  • Technically strong, can focus on the detail and willing to share expertise and mentor junior colleagues
  • Organised, collaborative, and able to work across all organisation levels
  • Good written and verbal skills

Desirables:

  • Good understanding of Open TWINS
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook (email)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Education

  • ‘A’ level (or equivalent) passes plus 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • A desire to progress within Insurance and a track record of working towards professional Qualifications
