Broker - US Property

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are currently looking for someone experienced in US or International Property Broking to support producing brokers in placing business into the Lloyds and company markets.

In this role you will keep up to date records of accounts being worked on, provide quotes to clients and work with the technical team to ensure placed accounts are managed accordingly.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To produce clear and accurate documents and wordings for clients which provide the best possible cover in the market and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
  • Use appropriate class of business knowledge to produce contract documents and documents suited to the client’s needs.
  • Check and recommend amendments to policies/contract documents produced by others prior to agreement by Underwriters.
  • Check final contract documents against slip or proposal details to ensure appropriateness of the proposed standard policy.
  • Create original and complex contract documents and maintain database of contract documents and policy information.
  • Provide expert advice on contract documents within specified classes of business.
  • Resolve Underwriter’s queries in a timely manner, as well as assisting with broking where required.
  • Maintain up-to-date and orderly files.
  • Provide and gather information to and from Underwriters, Brokers, Technical Staff and Business Producers as required.
  • Manage and undertake assigned project work to time scales as directed.
  • Evaluate workflow system and policy status and report on regular basis.
  • Work closely with Divisional Leadership to identify and drive opportunities for improved processes
  • Build relationships with peers across different Specialisms to drive improved processes and best practice.

Client Service:

  • Provide pro-active service to expedite the production of policies, liaising between all parties and actively chasing information.
  • Deal with all client queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Escalate any potential problems to brokers and account executives.

Representing Price Forbes

  • Present the Bishopsgate name and core values to clients.
  • Represent Bishopsgate with clients, agents, suppliers and other organisations.

Compliance:

  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory and Price Forbes compliance requirements, E&O compliance procedures and quality initiatives.
  • Escalate any potential E&O's to Divisional Directors and the Legal & Compliance team at the earliest opportunity.

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Around 2-3 years Lloyds Broking experience within the Property market.
  • A desire to progress within Insurance and a track record of working towards professional qualifications.
  • Organised and reliable.
  • Collaborative team working approach.
  • Ability to work with employees at all organisational levels.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook (email).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
